Yes. . . or No?

Sometimes I wonder if Emma really understands what I am asking her. She likes to shake her head no to everything I ask her. Maybe it is just me. This morning Les was asking Emma some questions. It went like this (remember that Emma is only using head gestures):

Les: Emma do you want applesauce for breakfast?

Emma: No

Les: Do you want breakfast?

Emma: No

Les: Should Daddy stay home from school today?

Emma: Yes

Times like this I know without a doubt she really understands us. She may not know what everything means but she is learning. She is always amazing me with what she knows.
